The grip head, also known as a gobo head, is one of the common accessories on a gaffer kit, used to grip various modifiers like scrims, flags, cutters, reflectors and many others onto boom arms or stands fitted with a 16mm (5/8”) spigot pin.
Made entirely from die cast aluminum, this grip-head (gobo head) is constructed around a solid central bolt and consists of a pair of rotating aluminum discs with toothed friction surfaces attached to a 5/8” receiver.
The discs include 4 different sized V-shaped jaws (16/12/8/4 mm) to ensure a firm grip of anything that’s mounted between the plates.
A non-slip aluminum friction pad is used to maintain a secure lock and a precise control of the grip.
A push-spring is added between the discs to auto spread the grip jaws upon releasing the grip tightening, making it easier to remove or insert the accessories without having to manually pull the jaws to untie them.
The ergonomic locking T-handle features anti-slip shape and dedicated roller bearings designed for anti-seize and maximum torque when tighten.
The grip head can be used with various c-stands, baby stands or other supporting accessory fitted with a 16mm (5/8”) spigot pin. Accommodates both short and long neck spigots thanks to the two threaded wholes at different positions.
